Premium licorice flavonoid brightening agent. Potent tyrosinase-inhibition, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory positioning; purity grades can support basic to professional brightening formulas. Mechanistically, Glabridin has been reported to inhibit melanogenesis and inflammation in B16 melanoma cells and guinea-pig skin, and tyrosinase studies report reversible non-competitive inhibition with an IC50 of 0.43 μmol/L. It is water-insoluble but soluble in ethanol or glycols, making it more suitable for emulsions, oil-rich systems, or solubilized brightening serums rather than simple water-based formulas.
